Understanding your rights and responsibilities when using our digital disposal space.

1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using our disposal space service, you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. If you do not agree to abide by the above, please do not use this service.
Our disposal space is designed for storing digital items you no longer want cluttering your active workspace but may need to recover later. By using this service, you acknowledge the unique nature of digital disposal and recovery.
You must be at least 13 years of age to use this service. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's permission to use the service.
2. Service Description
Our disposal space provides a cloud storage solution where you can:
- Dispose of files, documents, and digital items you want to store away from daily view
- Search and manage disposed items for easy retrieval
- Download or permanently delete items at any time
- Import files from connected services (e.g., Google Drive) with your authorization
- Access your disposal space via web browser or mobile application
- AI-Powered Semantic Search (Premium, Beta): Search your files by meaning, not just keywords. This feature requires opt-in via your account settings.
The service is intended for legitimate storage and recovery needs. We reserve the right to monitor usage patterns to ensure compliance with these terms.
3. User Responsibilities
When using our disposal space, you agree to:
- Only dispose of content you own or have the right to store
- Not use the service for illegal, harmful, or malicious content
- Respect storage limits based on your subscription tier
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
- Understand that disposed items remain your responsibility
- Not attempt to circumvent storage limits or abuse the service
You acknowledge that while items are "disposed" from your active view, they remain stored and accessible through the disposal space interface until you choose to permanently delete them.
4. Prohibited Content & Acceptable Use
To maintain a safe and legal service, the following content is strictly prohibited on disposal.space:
Absolutely Prohibited (Zero Tolerance)
- Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM): Any content depicting minors in sexual situations. This includes real imagery, AI-generated content, and illustrated material. Violations are immediately reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and relevant law enforcement authorities.
- Non-Consensual Intimate Imagery: Sexual or intimate images shared without the consent of the person depicted, including "revenge porn" and deepfakes.
- Content depicting sexual exploitation or trafficking
Adult & Explicit Content
- Pornographic or sexually explicit material
- Nudity intended to be sexually gratifying
- Sexual services or escort advertisements
Violent & Harmful Content
- Graphic violence, gore, or content depicting real-world violence
- Content promoting self-harm or suicide
- Terrorist content or violent extremism
- Content promoting or glorifying violence against individuals or groups
Hate & Discrimination
- Content promoting hatred against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin
- Holocaust denial or genocide glorification
- Symbols or imagery associated with hate groups
Illegal & Harmful Activities
- Copyright Infringement: Pirated software, movies, music, or other copyrighted material you don't have rights to
- Malware, viruses, ransomware, or hacking tools
- Content facilitating fraud, phishing, or scams
- Stolen data, credentials, or personal information
- Content promoting illegal drug sales or manufacturing
- Instructions for creating weapons or explosives
Enforcement: Violations may result in immediate account termination without notice. We cooperate with law enforcement investigations and will report illegal content to appropriate authorities. CSAM is reported to NCMEC within 24 hours of discovery.
5. Copyright & DMCA Compliance
We respect intellectual property rights and comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).
Copyright Infringement Reports
If you believe content on our service infringes your copyright, please submit a DMCA takedown notice to our designated agent including:
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed
- Identification of the infringing material and information sufficient to locate it
- Your contact information (address, phone, email)
- A statement that you have a good faith belief the use is not authorized
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner
- Your physical or electronic signature

Repeat Infringers
We terminate accounts of users who are repeat copyright infringers in appropriate circumstances.
6. Subscriptions and Payments
Free Tier
- All users receive 15 GB of free storage
- Includes 3 Notion embed links for sharing files externally
- Full access to core features including Google Drive import, instant search, and file management
- No time limit or credit card required
Premium Subscription
- Premium subscribers receive 100 GB of base storage
- Unlimited Notion embed links
- AI-Powered Search (Beta): Semantic file search powered by OpenAI. Requires opt-in via settings. Works with PDFs, Office documents, text files, and more.
- Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually through Stripe, our payment processor
- Annual subscriptions are billed upfront for the full year at a discounted rate
- You may cancel your subscription at any time through the settings page
- Upon cancellation, you retain premium access until the end of your current billing period
Storage Overage (Premium Only)
- Premium subscribers may exceed the 100 GB base storage limit
- Additional storage beyond 100 GB is billed at $0.05 per GB per month
- Overage charges are calculated based on peak usage during the billing period and added to your next invoice
- You can monitor your storage usage in real-time from the dashboard
Payment Failure and Downgrades
- If a payment fails, your account will be downgraded to the free tier
- If your storage exceeds 15 GB after downgrade, you will not be able to upload new files until you reduce usage or resubscribe
- Existing files are not automatically deleted upon downgrade
Refund Policy
We do not offer refunds for partial subscription periods. If you believe you were charged in error, please contact us within 7 days of the charge.
7. Third-Party Services and Imports
Our service integrates with third-party services to enhance your experience:
Google Drive Import
- You may optionally connect your Google account to import files from Google Drive
- By authorizing this connection, you agree to Google's Terms of Service
- Google Workspace files are converted to native Office formats during import (Docs → .docx, Sheets → .xlsx, Slides → .pptx)
- You can revoke Google Drive access at any time through your Google account settings
Payment Processing
Payment processing is handled by Stripe. By subscribing to premium, you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service. We do not store your full credit card information on our servers.
Authentication
Account authentication is provided by Clerk. Your login credentials are managed securely through their infrastructure.
AI Search Processing (Premium)
- AI-powered search features use self-hosted Inngest on Railway for background processing
- Document Text Extraction: Files (PDFs, Office documents) are sent to Unstructured.io for text extraction. Files are transmitted securely via TLS and processed transiently (not stored after processing).
- Embedding Generation: Vector embeddings are generated using OpenAI's text-embedding-3-small model, protected by OpenAI's Data Processing Agreement
- Text extraction (Unstructured.io) and embedding generation (OpenAI) are the only processing steps for AI search
8. Data and Privacy
Your disposed items are stored securely with industry-standard AES-256 encryption at rest. All data is encrypted in transit using TLS.
We do not access, read, or analyze your disposed content except as required for service operation, AI search features you explicitly enable, or legal compliance. Your storage usage may be analyzed in aggregate for service improvement.
AI Search Feature (Premium, Opt-in)
When you enable AI-powered search in your settings, supported files are sent to Unstructured.io for text extraction, then converted to vector embeddings using OpenAI's text-embedding-3-small model. Both Unstructured.io and OpenAI process files transiently and do not retain your content. OpenAI's Data Processing Agreement ensures GDPR compliance. This processing is opt-in and can be disabled at any time. Existing embeddings are preserved when you disable the feature.
You retain full ownership of all disposed items and can download or permanently delete them at any time through your disposal space dashboard. For complete details, please review our Privacy Policy.
9. Service Availability
We strive to maintain high availability of your disposal space, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. Scheduled maintenance and unexpected outages may occur.
We recommend maintaining local backups of critical disposed items, as with any cloud storage service. While we implement robust backup and recovery systems, you remain responsible for your data.
10. Account Termination
You may delete your account at any time through the settings page. We recommend downloading any important files before deleting your account, as deletion is permanent and immediate.
Upon account deletion, all your disposed items and personal data are permanently deleted immediately — no backups, no recovery.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, are used for illegal activities, or engage in harmful behavior. In such cases, we will provide notice where legally permissible.
11. Intellectual Property
Your Content: You retain all ownership rights to the files and content you upload to your disposal space. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your disposed items.
Our Service: The disposal.space service, including its design, branding, and software, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or reverse engineer any part of our service.
12. Limitation of Liability
Our disposal space service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We are not liable for any loss of disposed items, service interruptions, or consequential damages.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claims arising from your use of the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.
We encourage regular downloads of important disposed items and maintaining local backups where appropriate.
13. Governing Law and Disputes
These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the European Union and Sweden, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If a resolution cannot be reached, disputes shall be submitted to the competent courts of Sweden.
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
14. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms to reflect changes in our service or legal requirements. Significant changes will be communicated through your disposal space dashboard and email notifications at least 14 days before taking effect.
Continued use of the service after term updates constitutes acceptance of the new terms. If you disagree with changes, you may terminate your account as described above.
